Known as “South Australia’s favourite seaside town” - Robe is the perfect place for travellers seeking a relaxing coastal escape. Boasting beautiful beaches, stunning boutiques, restaurants and luxury accommodation, it’s everything you would expect and more for your beach stay.

From Robe, you can continue your journey south along the coastline to Port MacDonnell following the route of the Shipwreck Trail. For those holding out for the perfect fishing spot, head to the waters of Port MacDonnell where you can catch an array of different fish. You can also easily find a fishing charter to take you out to the deeper waters to catch snapper, mako sharks, hapuka and more. The other must-try experience is enjoying a leisurely snorkel in Ewen’s Pond with crystal clear waters - so clear you can see 80 metres deep.
The Blue Lake in Mount Gambier

Prepare to see some pretty impressive geological wonders in Mount Gambier. Visit the famed 72-metre Blue Lake occupying one of the extinct volcano’s craters. Enjoy a tour around the lake and learn of its geological history, or enjoy a leisurely stroll around the circumference of the lake.
Insider Tip: You cannot swim in the Blue Lake. If you fancy a dip, you can visit Little Blue Lake located about 10 minutes away at Mount Schank.
Umpherston Sinkhole - also known as the Sunken Garden.
Then there’s the Umpherston Sinkhole also known as the Sunken Garden. Due to natural occurring events, a flourishing forest-like ecosystem thrives in the sinkhole and houses native possums.
Insider Tip: Visit the Sunken Garden at dusk and feed possums fresh fruit.
Luminous mushrooms at OneFortyOne Pine Forest
If you happen to be visiting the area around May and June, take an evening trip to OneFortyOne pine forest to see luminous mushrooms. The soft-green glow lights up the forest making for a magical atmosphere.
