A Bespoke African Wildlife Adventure

3rd May 2019

At Travel Associates, we specialise in bespoke itineraries designed to suit your exact needs. Here, we showcase an incredible trip one of our travel advisors put together for a client, to give an insight into the unforgettable holidays we can create.

Matthew Chisholm from Chisholm & Turner Travel Associates in NSW, created a personalised itinerary for his clients who wanted to experience a range of African wildlife experiences, from an air safari across Tanzania and Kenya, to gorilla trekking in Rwanda.

The Challenge

1. My clients wanted to enjoy as many different African wildlife experiences as possible.

2. A must-have was a stay at the Giraffe Manor in Nairobi.

3. They wanted somewhere to relax for a few days after their active adventures.

The Itinerary

Air Safari across Tanzania & Kenya

After flying via Johannesburg and Nairobi to Kilimanjaro, my clients' trip started with a 10-night Elewana air safari that showcased the best of the local wildlife in Tanangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Serengeti National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve. Light aircraft transfers between stops meant maximum time spent on the ground enjoying game drives or relaxing in luxury lodges and camps with wildlife viewing areas.

Giraffe Manor

The one absolute must of their holiday was two nights at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, as one of my clients is a huge fan of these long-necked mammals and relished the opportunity to have up-close interactions with them.

Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda

East Africa offers an abundance of different wildlife experiences, so my clients decided to spend four nights in Rwanda. There they got a chance to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat in Volcanoes National Park, as well as explore the sights of the capital, Kigali.

Cape Town

Next, my clients wanted a bit of civilisation and the chance for some shopping, so I booked three nights at the Queen Victoria hotel on Cape Town's popular V&A Waterfront.

Elephant Camp in Zimbabwe

No trip to Africa is complete without viewing the iconic Victoria Falls. To add a wildlife element, I booked my clients a stay at the Elephant Camp.

Mauritius

With a private beach lapped by the Indian ocean, the Sofitel Mauritius L'Imperial Resort & Spa offered the perfect island break to cool off after time spent in the African bush.
