Other Oahu attractions There are many other attractions in Oahu outside of the North Shore and Honolulu. No trip to the island is complete without a visit to Pearl Harbor, the site of the Japanese bombing credited for bringing the United States into World War II. Though a sombre attraction, Pearl Harbor has a historic significance and cannot be ignored. On a sunnier note, visit the Dole Plantation, located in Wahiawa. Here, you can hop aboard the Pineapple Express, a miniature train that takes visitors through the plantation's expansive pineapple fields. While you're there, make sure to enjoy some Dole Whip, a whipped, pineapple-flavored, ice cream-like concoction unlike anything you've ever tasted.
