Awaits a paradise otherwise known as Banyan Tree Bintan Island.
Vanessa Alcock from Thorpe & Turner Travel Associates in Hobart explains:
If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life in South East Asia, particularly Singapore, Bintan Island is the destination for you.
You will find this hidden gem nestled up in the tree tops of one of Indonesia's islands, offering breathtaking views of the South China Sea and Malaysian shoreline. With such pristine surrounds and calming serenity, you'll find it hard to believe, you’re only a 50 minute ferry ride from Singapore.
I was greeted on arrival at Banyan Tree Bintan Island, and the staff whisked me away to what would be my stunning new home for the next 2 days.
As I opened the doors to my luxury hillside villa, I was instantly taken aback by the amazing views. Within minutes, I found myself relaxing on the day bed whilst admiring the views of the sea and listening to the tropical birds humming in the valley.
Just when I thought I’d seen the best of the resort, I stumbled upon the Tree Tops restaurant for breakfast. The royal blue infinity pool reflected the tall trees above. Out to the sea, were massive, dramatic rocks, scattered perfectly on the crystal clear waters. To top it off, the breakfast was an incredible spread of eggs made how you like them, Danish pastries, pancakes with chocolate sauce and berry compote, Asian noodles, champagne cocktails – the options were endless!
After the big breakfast I was ready to really unwind and soak up the sunshine. I headed back to my villa and dipped into my private pool. As I lay there, I could hear the waves breaking on the rocks below and could feel the sun beaming down on my face. I have only been at the Banyan Tree Resort for a few hours, but already felt a million miles away from the rest of the world and stresses of everyday life.
I decided to go and explore the resort in the afternoon, and discovered that many activities awaited. From the 18 hole golf course, to a massage on the beach, or zipping around the resort on the ATV’s, I realised it would be a long time before I grew bored at Banyan Tree.
Simply put: The Banyan Tree resort on Bintan Island is the perfect place to escape to for a few days, whether you are seeking total relaxation, tranquillity or fun.
