Hawai`i Food & Wine Festival
The Annual Hawai`i Food & Wine (HFWF) Festival is back, so clear your calendars for the 6-9 September 2012. Featuring over 50 master chefs and legendary vintners, the four-day event on Oahu will be hosted at numerous venues, including The MODERN Honolulu, Halekulani, Hilton Hawai`ian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, and Ko Olina Resort with Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa. Tickets start at US$200 per person for signature events and can be purchased through your local Travel Associates consultant.
Top chefs from the United States, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Australia, and the Philippines have been invited to create innovative dishes in their own culinary and cultural traditions using produce and products from our Hawai`ian Islands. Food lovers will experience a plethora of epicurean delights, including exciting cooking demos, wine tastings with top sommeliers, culinary workshops, industry seminars and field excursions during our daytime events, plus signature dining experiences over four nights.

Thursday, September 6, 2012:
Kicking off the Festival, “Enter the MODERN Dragon: Morimoto and Friends” at The MODERN Honolulu will build on Hawai`i’s unique location where East meets West. In Chinese Astrology, 2012 is the year of the Dragon – the most powerful and auspicious of the 12 animal signs, bringing high energy and prosperity. Once again led by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, “Enter the MODERN Dragon” will be a showcase of foods prepared by some of the most esteemed international chefs from Asia and the Pacific.
Friday, September 7, 2012:
The Second Annual Halekulani Master Chefs Gala Series: “Chefs Who’ve Cooked for Presidents and Royalty” will be a lavish seven course dining experience with extraordinary parings featuring master chefs who served and cooked for a nation’s president and/or royalty.
Saturday, September 8, 2012:
“From Farm to Table: A Makahiki Festival” at the Hilton Hawai`ian Village Resort and Spa will pay tribute to the Hawai`ian Makahiki, or harvest season. The event will showcase Hawai`i’s sustainable future with world-renowned celebrity chefs, many of whom are notable for promoting “farm to table,” sustainable sourcing and cooking practices. Chefs selected for this event will create dishes based on the best of Hawai`i’s locally-grown and -raised produce and products. Farmers, ranchers, fisherman and local producers will also be invited to accompany the chef at the cooking table to interact with guests.
Sunday, September 9, 2012 :
The finale will be hosted by Ko Olina Resort Association with Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and JW Marriott’s Ihilani Resort & Spa, on the Westside. Themed “Cuisines of the Stars: A Magical Voyage of Food & Culture,” thirteen celebrity chefs will create a culinary tour of ethnic foods from around the world at the lagoons under the stars. Guests will guide themselves down a culinary pathway abundant of dishes created with local produce and products infused with distinctive flavours, spices and ingredients.
