With its sunny weather, white sand beaches and fascinating cultural attractions it’s no wonder that Bali continues to be a favourite destination for Aussies. And with winter’s grip taking firm hold on Australia, there’s no better time to pack your sunscreen and swimmers and make your way north to one of the many welcoming hotels or resorts found on this popular island getaway.
One of the most common questions for travellers when visiting a new destination is where to stay, and in a place like Bali, one can be easily overwhelmed with the dizzying array of choices. Never fear however, for our very own Alan Reis of Reis & James Travel Associates in Manuka, ACT recently travelled here to check out one of the island’s loveliest properties, where guests are sure to feel the sun drenched embrace and welcoming spirit of this great holiday destination.
Your Own Private Hideaway - With a View
While in Bali, Alan enjoyed the fine service and upscale facilities of Kemala Villas. Just a twenty minute drive north of Seminyak, this tropical hideaway enjoys a private, secluded setting with idyllic views of the nearby river and tranquil rolling hills covered in lush rice fields and tall palm trees. The property itself is lovingly decorated and landscaped with a lotus pond and lush frangipani, jasmine and hibiscus filled gardens for idyllic views from any of the villas five bedrooms.
Step outside and guests will find an enormous swimming pool with built in Jacuzzi, where the days and nights can be passed in relaxing bliss on one of the plush 4 poster daybeds or pool side lounge chairs. Enjoy a drink while listening to the soothing garden waterfall during the day and enjoy the dancing of the flames at night when the three beautiful fire bowls are lit. Adding a glowing ambiance to the jasmine filled air, the nights pass in tranquil enjoyment.
Your Every Need Fulfilled
Villa attendants make sure your every need is met and guests needn’t lift a finger during their stay, and while the villa can accommodate up to 10 people, there is plenty of space for both privacy and togetherness. The expansive, yet intimate villa features five bedrooms, all fully air conditioned with their own private ensuite. Two of the master bathrooms even feature a romantic outdoor shower for those who enjoy that novel au natural experience in the fresh air.
A TV/Media room, wireless internet, book library and DVD players in each room will keep guests entertained for hours, but there is nothing that brings friends together the way an exquisitely set table and good food does. With its own private chef, meal time at the villa is always a special occasion and the lovely dining room offers the perfect ambiance in which to enjoy the beautifully prepared meals. “The staff couldn’t do enough for you,” said Alan, and with the excellent chef, “we had lunch and dinner there most days.”
With all that Kemala Villa has to offer, it has become a destination in itself. Conveniently located just 5 kilometres from the excellent shopping and exciting nightlife of Seminyak, Kemala is the perfect place in which to enjoy all that Bali has to offer.
