Mark has been in the industry for an impressive 18 years and is Co-Manager of Freedman Langhorne & Turner Travel Associates.
Though he can master all kinds of itineraries, Mark has a knack for planning travel to remote areas. “I love the Faroe Islands,” he says. “It’s just one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I’ve sent a few different clients there and hearing how much they loved it will keep me in this job for years to come.”
He's also been to Greenland and says it's worth visiting for the people alone. Then, of course, there are the icebergs. “It’s just spectacular, to see an iceberg the size of 5 city blocks rise above you in the water, as you cruise past it in your zodiac,” Mark says. “And if you love wildlife, you’ll love it here because you can see polar bears in their natural environment and witness whales swimming right by you.”
If South America is on your bucket list, Mark has some great suggestions for Peru and Bolivia. “I’m lucky enough to have been to Machu Picchu twice, once in the beautiful sunshine, and once in eerie grey, dark clouds,” he says. “It’s just such a spiritual place, it really puts your life in perspective.”
Mark says there's a time for luxury and a time to live like the locals do. "Ride into the city of La Paz on a rickety old bus!" he says. "As you come over the hill into the Bolivian city, you will see it unfold in front of you and it's a sight that will stick with you forever."
