3 wonders of Waikiki

26th February 2013

Waikiki is a hotspot for travellers in search of some Hawaiian rest, relaxation and hospitality - and of course those who want to be surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Found on the south shore of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, Waikiki is an absolute oasis.

Here are 3 wonders of Waikiki for you to discover, away from the tourist crowds so you can enjoy your very own hidden gem.

Explore the Waimea Falls Park

Take a hike through this beautiful park, peppered with cascading waterfalls. You'll walk through lush green gardens for about half an hour until you reach the Waimea Falls, which tumble down into the calm pool below.

Take a dip in these fresh waters and explore the vibrant surrounding plant life, including huge, bright tropical flowers.

A luxury stay

Why not indulge in some luxury on your Waikiki holiday? The Outrigger Waikiki on the beach is the perfect base for your Hawaiian explorations.

Located right on the Waikiki beachfront, glass-bordered balconies give guests an unparalleled view of the ocean and quality service is right at your fingertips.

There's also plenty of sumptuous dining and entertainment on hand, such as steak houses and grills and live Hawaiian musical acts.

Take a drive

With so much beautiful scenery surrounding you, it'd be a shame to spend the whole holiday at one beach.

One example of a great drive is the road from Waikiki to the Nu'uanu Pali State Wayside, which you can reach from the Pali Highway. Here you will reach 1,200 feet heights and will get a beautiful view of Oahu. Watch your hat, the winds here are incredibly strong.
